Your First Craft Show Checklist

Hi there!  If you are a newbie to craft shows, it can be a little daunting (at least it was for me) trying to figure out what you will need to bring with you to your first show.  I thought I'd share with you, the checklist that I have developed over the last couple of years, so that hopefully, you'll feel a little more prepared.

1.  Products
2.  Tables
3.  Canopy (EZ-up) if outdoors and weights to secure canopy (I use water jugs)
4.  Tablecloths (I use either black or white fitted tablecloths and layer with a colorful runner)
5.  Display props (crates, table top decor, flowers, mirrors, racks, risers)
6.  Dolly (hand truck), wagon or anything on wheels that you can use to transport large items
7.  Banners
8.  Business cards, flyers, postcards (any marketing materials)
9.  Cash box and cash for making change (I bring lot's of $1's and $5's)
10.  Receipt book
11.  Square or credit card reader if you plan to accept credit cards
12.  Mobile/Smart phone/Ipad
13.  Directions to show location
14.  Bags for products sales
15.  Camera (I use the one on my phone) for display photos
16.  Apron to keep pen, phone, receipt book and cash on on you at all times.
17.  Guest book - great way to get in touch with customers
18.  Food (pack a light lunch, snacks and water because you might not get a chance to step away)
19.  Trash bag (you'd be surprised at what people leave at your booth)
20.  Craft Show Toolbox (see below)
21.  Lighting and extension cords (if electricity is provided)

In addition to the above, I always bring what I call my "Toolbox", which is essentially a box of miscellaneous items I have found useful.  My "Toolbox" includes:

1.  Extra business cards.
2.  Twine
3.  Tape (scotch and duct)
4.  Clamps for hanging banner
5.  Safety pins
6.  Note pad
7.  Pens, pencils, chalk
8.  Lint roller
9.  Scissors
10.  Copy of business license and resale license
11.  Disinfecting wipes
12.  Tools (if needed for assembly of display)

I know it seems like a lot, but believe me, it's better to be over prepared than under.

Hello and welcome!

Hi there and welcome to my first blog!

The whole idea of writing a blog gives me a bit of anxiety to be quite honest, which is probably why I've put it off for so long.  But, it's a new year and one of my goals is to start blogging, so here goes:

A little about myself...  In my daily life, I am a mom of two beautiful girls, Cassie & Catie and wife to my best friend and the cutest guy I know, Rob.  Our family is blessed to live in warm and sunny Huntington Beach, CA.

My hubby and I enjoying a beautiful sunset at Dukes in Huntington, one of our favorite places to spend date night.

My two beautiful girls during a trip to Hawaii.

About two years ago, I started a little home based soy candle company called, Cass & Cate (named after my two girls.)  What started out as a part time hobby has turned into a full time passion with an online Etsy shop, several retail boutique accounts and many craft shows and festivals.

And there you have it.  I hope you stop by again for the fun stuff, which will include DIY projects (as seen on Pinterest, my latest obsession), favorite finds on Etsy, photos from our CNO's (Crafty Night Out) and more...
